A group of Kansas women are banding together to help Jeremy by making a donation to him and wearing a necklace (The Jeremy Necklace) for a month. The necklace is passed on to the next lucky lady on the 1st of each month. The ladies keep a journal that is shared when the necklace is passed on so Jeremy knows the places that the necklace visited.

There has been an anonymous donor that has donated enough for a two months donation. Two ladies can wear the necklace, which may not be able to afford to otherwise.

How "The Jeremy Necklace" started:
I work at Washburn University and my friend, Lori, at the university e-mailed me to tell me about a book that I might like to read. The book was "The Necklace" which is about 13 ladies that purchased a necklace to share. Each lady wore the necklace for a month and made journal entries to record where the necklace was worn. This gave me an idea to raise money for Jeremy. The necklace we have is worn each month by a lucky lady and they make a donation to Jeremy to wear the necklace. The necklace was made especially for Jeremy and if you look at the picture the garnets are in the shape of a "J". I wore the necklace in December, 2008 to start it off. We have the months filled through November, 2009.
Jeremy, it is such an honor to be part of this great adventure. I pray that God will not only bless you and Sharon, but many others who strugle daily with so many types of cancer. Much love to you. Tree

ReplyDeleteMy name is Lisa. I have known and been a friend of Tricia's for several years. We have also attended the Clearwater Church of the Nazarene together and she has done a wonderful job at keeping us posted on how you are doing and letting us know what we all need to pray for and how God is answering those prayers.
I don't do much on the internet but surf & email, but when I received this link from Tricia, I felt lead to post a comment. I just want you to know that even though I don't know you personally, I have been praying for you for a long time. I have been going through some personal health issues as well and I know from personal experience the power of prayer. I also know the comfort I feel in knowing that there are people praying for me and lifting me up to our Lord when I can't seem to do it myself.
Through God we are all one, united and able to stand strong on our faith with each other. We may never meet face to face on this earth, but one day we will all know each other. May God Bless you richly. I pray for God to give you peace and comfort each moment of every day.
